Name of Assignment: Senior Project: Varsity Jackets Subject: Senior Seminar Facilitator/Teacher: Mr. Adam
A senior project is a seven month long project meant to show that we can impact the community and self-direct. My project was to design, fundraise, buy varsity jackets for the varsity sports students at Kihei Charter. My driving question is “How can I increase school pride for student-athletes?” which I pursued through varsity jackets. There are many facets of our projects that exhibit growth and our skills. The purpose of my project is to bring a sense of community and school spirit to varsity athletes, as well as make a connection for the school to make varsity jackets for the rest of the school’s career. I am most proud of the organization throghout this project. This project required a level of organization and attentiveness, especially to emails, that I previously had no needed. The most challenging part of this project was organizing people and events to make the project possible. If I were to do this project again, I would make absolutely sure that I had spoken individually to all of the resources at the school in order to avoid miscommunications further down the line. This project relates to how I have learned to communicate and present information in a timely and organized manner. The 21st Century Skill this assignment addresses is communication, thinking and problem solving, and self-directional skills.
