Name of Assignment: Color Wheel Eye Subject: Art 101 Facilitator/Teacher: Professor Arkin
Description of Work/Assignment: I learned about colors and had to incorporate it into my art piece.
Which 21st Century Skill do you feel this assignment addresses, and why? I think this project addresses self-directional skills. I used global awareness because this project required me to learn the history and cultural significance of colors.
What are you most proud of from this assignment, and why? I am most proud of the look of this project. I think it looks artistic and it utilizes the assignments perimeters well. Even if I didn’t get the perfect grade I wanted, I think it looks exactly how I wanted it to.
How did you develop and/or improve upon your 21st Century Skill with this assignment? I improved my 21st century skills by learning more about global cultures and environments.
What was most difficult about completing this task? The most difficult thing about this task was following what the art instructor wanted us to do. It is very hard to predict her intentions when she posts the least of the description. It is a big part of the assignment to do the assignments according to her specific criteria even if it’s subjective, that was difficult to work with.
How could you improve this work? If you could start over, what would you do different? If I could do this project again, I would do exactly as the Professor wanted us to. With hindsight I would know what he wanted and I wouldn’t have to go in blind. I would do this in order to get a better grade. Which may sacrifice my creative freedom, but if I could do this project again, I would change it.
How does this relate to what you have learned in the past? I have learned about color theory and wheels before, I actually wrote a bad essay about it, but I hadn’t learned about the history behind it before. It also relates to my time budgeting and scheduling, which I used in this project to finish on time.
How can you apply this to future learning? I can use this in future learning to better understand what teachers ask of me and what my expectations
