Goals: The point of this project was to understand theme and life (I guess, technically), And to write an essay on the book The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas.
Why I chose this project: I chose this project because it showcased more 21st Century Skills than most assignments would. I really liked writing this essay, I worked at Godspeed to get in finished on time.
21st Century Skills: Information: I used information in the most clear way possible, to use it to write, it's not exactly like using data to make a biology report but it is using information from the real world and the book. Thinking and Problem Solving; I used thinking and problem solving during this essay because I had to think about it (big surprise) and obviously decide what turn the essay would take. (Literary analysis, also, to decide how to interpret the book) Self-Directional: I am very bad at telling myself to do things and listening, I just avoid it until I implode with the urge to finish. I really need to work on that. *sweats* Global Awareness: Most evidently global awareness, I used this skill because I was becoming, for lack of a better word, aware of the situations of different people. Civil Literacy: If you think about Starr's trial in T.H.U.G. then you would have to include Civil literacy because of the themes and most prominently the topics that appear at that moment.
Current Growth: For sure my writing has gotten better, I hope that my writing was clear and easy to understand (as far as Grammarly is concerned it said it would be easy for 8th-Grade + to read so I don’t think it got confusing.) I am interested in writing and current events so I think that did showcase at least some of that. New Growth: I would give myself more time, I’m a master procrastinator, a Procrastinator Extraordinaire if you will. I waited until the last two hours before doing it which gave me an adrenaline boost but I also think it shortened my lifetime expectancy. S T R E S S. I definitely would like to try to start earlier but I don’t swing that way. It's physically impossible. Trust me.
