Name of Assignment: End of Unit Analysis Subject: Monsters in Literature Facilitator/Teacher: Professor Andaluz
Description of Work/Assignment: We had to answer specific questions using rules specific to writing about literature.
Which 21st Century Skill do you feel this assignment addresses, and why? I think this assignment addresses the Information skill. This assignment used information skills because I had to research my answers as well as use the book itself to support my answers. I had to find quotations that would support my answers and make sense in my answers.
What are you most proud of from this assignment, and why? I’m proud of this assignment because I had the opportunity to go back and make changes and those wise choices I made gave me a good grade. I’m proud that I recognized that those changes needed to be made for the writing to sound cohesive and make sense with the theme and questions.
How did you develop and/or improve upon your 21st Century Skill with this assignment? I developed my Informational Skills here because I worked on how to put information into my writing using literary analysis.
What was most difficult about completing this task? The most difficult thing about completing this task was knowing what was right. I had never done something like this before and I didn’t know what it was supposed to look like. So I workshopped it and I got peer review and kept working until it was perfect.
How could you improve this work? If you could start over, what would you do different? I don’t think I can improve this work any further. The reason for that is that I already redid it and got a good grade on it.
How does this relate to what you have learned in the past? This relates to what I have learned in the past because it calls upon my writing skills that I have used and learned throughout every class I have taken.
How can you apply this to future learning? I can apply this to future learning in my future analyses for this class as well as for future classes where I will need to write about literature. This is good practice and it allows me to learn what to do and what I have done wrong.
