Name of Assignment: Polynomial Roller Coaster Subject: Algebra II Facilitator/Teacher: Ms. Alexander
Description of Work/Assignment: We had to graph a roller coaster with a background using polynomials.
Which 21st Century Skill do you feel this assignment addresses, and why? This project addresses thinking and problem solving because, to be honest I had no idea how to graph things using polynomials (at least not in the way the project was asking us to) so I had to test things and think of a way to do it.
What are you most proud of from this assignment, and why? I'm proud of this assignment because it turned out really well and I got a good grade on it.
How did you develop and/or improve upon your 21st Century Skill with this assignment? I improved my problem solving and thinking because I worked with a partner so we had to do this work together.
What was most difficult about completing this task? The most difficult part about completing this task was that we had to use polynomials in a way we hadn't ever used them before.
How could you improve this work? If you could start over, what would you do different? If I were to do this again I would add more to the background of the roller coaster.
How does this relate to what you have learned in the past? This relates to all of the other projects that we have done in making, using, and understanding functions to make them.
How can you apply this to future learning? I can apply this to future learning to use in my next math classes because it will be essential (because math is sequential).
